Stop the Burn-Out on Your SIG Blomax Lines
There is nothing more frustrating than a tube burning out right in the middle of a run. It kills your OEE, stops production cold, and leaves you scrambling. The problem is that most standard lamps just aren’t built for this. They can’t handle the constant shaking and the wild temperature swings of a high-speed PET blowing environment. That’s why we built our reinforced infrared lamps. They’re designed specifically to handle the abuse of these machines and slide right into place. Getting the heat right To get those PET preforms to the perfect temperature for stretching, you need serious power. We’ve tweaked the tungsten filament geometry to make sure the heat stays consistent from one end of the tube to the other. No cold spots, no guesswork. Because these handle higher voltage, you get a lot more “punch” in a small space. It’s what allows you to keep your cycle times fast. But here is a pro tip: pushing more wattage means your oven’s cooling fans have to work harder. If your vents are clogged with dust, even the toughest lamp is going to overheat and pop. Keep those fans clean. Built to take a beating We use heavy-wall quartz glass so the tubes don’t bow or crack when things get bumpy. We also tuned the halogen cycle to keep the filament centered. This stops that annoying “drift” that usually kills a lamp way too early. Depending on your rack, we use either R7s or Sk15 bases. The goal is a tight, snug fit. Why? Because loose connections cause arcing, and arcing fries your end caps. Our seals are reinforced to stop gas leaks, which means these usually outlast the OEM parts. Easy swaps, less stress These are direct replacements. You don’t have to mess with your panels or rebuild your oven racks. We focused on the structural stuff so you can spend less time swapping tubes and more time actually shipping bottles. One last thing: if you keep seeing breaks in the same oven zone, take a look at your lamp clips. If they’re too tight, they’ll snap any quartz tube—no matter how reinforced it is. Give them a little breathing room.
