Let’s talk about the 380V Infrared Lamp for PET Blowing
When we set out to build our 380V infrared replacement bulbs, we had one goal: make them just work. If you’re running Sidel SBO or other big blow molding platforms, you know the headache of trying to swap a part only to find out you have to rewire half the machine. We fixed that. These are true drop-in replacements. You pop them in, and they match the thermal footprint of the original lamps perfectly. No reconfiguration, no stress. The balance of power and heat Here is the thing about 380V lamps. By running at this voltage, we can get high wattage without shoving too much current through your wiring. Why does that matter? Because it keeps your connectors from overheating when you’re running 24/7. We’ve spent a lot of time tweaking the heat density. You need the PET preform to hit that glass transition temperature fast, but there’s a catch. If you cram too much wattage into a short tube, the filament burns out way too soon. We found the sweet spot where you get plenty of heat but the bulbs actually last. Quartz, coatings, and the “secret sauce” Rapid cycling is brutal on glass. That’s why we use high-purity quartz—it handles the thermal shock without cracking. But the real magic is in the coating. Most of our SBO lamps have a specialized layer that shifts the emission spectrum. Instead of wasting heat on the oven walls, it pushes the energy directly into the plastic. It’s a much smarter way to heat. And don’t worry about the fit. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. You just plug them into your existing holders and you’re good to go. A couple of pro tips for the floor Because we stick to industry-standard dimensions, these fit over 95% of the gear out there. You won’t have to mess with your oven spacing. But a word of caution: these high-output lamps gethot. Really hot. If your cooling blowers are clogged with dust or just aren’t up to the task, your lamp life will tank. Also, take a look at your reflectors. If they’re dirty or dull, they’re killing your efficiency. Give them a polish, and you’ll see the difference immediately.
