
Making Your PET Blowing Lamps Actually Fit (and Last)
If you’ve ever dealt with PET blowing, you know the headache. One wrong spot of heat and your preforms either thin out or just pop. It’s a balancing act. That’s why we built our shortwave IR lamps to be simple. We wanted them to be “drop-in” replacements. Whether your machine is a brand-name giant or something a bit more obscure, our lamps fit about 95% of the gear out there. No fuss, no custom brackets. The trick with heat density Here is the thing about heat: it’s all about how you pack it. If you take a high-wattage tube—say, 2500W—and squeeze it into a short space, you get that intense, rapid heat needed to soften a preform fast. We make these in a bunch of different voltages so they play nice with whatever power grid or controller you’re running. But a quick heads-up: when you push that much power into a small tube, your oven gets hot. Really hot. Just make sure your cooling blowers are up to the task, or you might see your reflectors start to warp. Keeping it simple with materials We don’t overcomplicate the build. We use high-purity quartz glass and halogen gas. Why? Because it keeps the filament from evaporating too quickly. It just lasts longer. As for the plugs, we stick to R7s and SK15 connectors. They’re the industry standard for a reason. You can just plug them into your existing sockets and get back to work without having to tear apart your machine’s chassis. Real-world use I’ve talked to plenty of engineers who are tired of lamps burning out because of a bad fit or a random voltage spike. It’s frustrating. That’s why we build these for the 24/7 grind. Plus, since we keep a huge stock of different lengths and power ratings, you don’t have to sit around waiting weeks for an OEM shipment. You just swap the old tube for ours, tweak your heating zones, and you’re rolling again. The end goal is simple: a bottle with consistent wall thickness and a production line that actually stays moving.
